Why I’m Changing My Podcast After 5 Years
The Story
In this solo episode, David Sammel reflects on the reality of growth, change, and stepping into discomfort — both personally and professionally. Nearly six months after moving from the UK to Florida after 46 years, David shares the emotional side of starting over and why meaningful transitions often take longer and feel harder than we expect.
He also opens up about exciting new chapters ahead: launching his first Florida masterclass, continuing to develop his AI digital brain, and evolving the future of the podcast itself. After five years of weekly episodes, David explains why he’s shifting to a biweekly format to create deeper conversations that genuinely help high performers move forward. Honest, thoughtful, and grounded, this episode is a reminder that uncertainty and growth often arrive together.

One of the most underrated truths in life is this. We massively underestimate how long things take and how difficult they can be. Nearly six months after moving from the UK to Florida, I'm still adjusting. The logistics are mostly handled, but emotionally, it's another story entirely. After 46 years in one country, you don't just suddenly feel rooted somewhere new. At the same time, this chapter has been incredibly energizing because I'm deliberately stepping back into discomfort. I've built my AI digital brain into what I've always believed it could be an intuitive, practical and deeply useful copy of what I know my my knowledge.
So other things that I'm doing is on June the 13th, I'm running my first Florida master class for eight USTA women at the 3.54 point O level focused on double strategy, decision making and composure and big moments. And honestly, the same applies to business leaders, because whether it's tennis, business or life, clarity under pressure changes everything. And finally, after five years of releasing a weekly podcast without missing a beat, I'm moving to a new format. One episode every two weeks. I need more time to think, reflect and create conversations that genuinely move high performers forward.
So that's where I'm at. A little uncomfortable, a little uncertain, but certainly very energized, which I know means I'm growing with the help of Sunshine Social Media. My podcast and social media strategy is being completely revamped and I'm excited about where it's heading. So see you soon when my next guest is Naveed Nazemian, an entrepreneur and author for what I know is a fascinating conversation and I think you can learn a lot. So follow along as we enter the next phase of the Locker Room Power Podcast.
